Unemployment in Australia to reach 10 percent

Unemployment in Australia will reach a record 10 per cent, as a result of restrictive measures aimed at curbing the spread of the new coronary virus, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said today.

In Australia, the rate of unemployment was previously projected to reach 9.25 percent this year. But with Victoria, the second most populated state, presenting six-week closing measures around Melbourne, unemployment will reach about 10 percent, Morrison said, Reuters reports.
