According to some security sources, the French Army has conducted exercises with Greek forces in the contested region, Reuters writes.
Speaking at a press conference along with Swiss counterpart, Cavusolgu indicated that Switzerland has offered mediation to resolve the dispute and that Turkey has agreed in principle to that, adding that Greece will receive rebuttals if it provokes the Turkish ship “Oruc Reis”.
The White House has announced that the dispute between Turkey and Greece has been one of the topics of discussion in the telephone conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron, and his American counterpart, Donald Trump.
The two leaders reportedly voiced concern about increasing tensions between NATO, Greece and Turkey allies.
Switzerland said it is willing to support dialogue on reducing tensions, if that is wanted by the two sides involved in the dispute.
