Month inflation measured by the harmonised consumer price index was lower 0.3% in July compared to June 2020, it has announced
Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), in the case of the release of the harmonised Consumer Awards Index (IHÇK) for July 2020.
This is largely explained in the fall of consumer prices in COICOP subgroups: milk, cheese and eggs - 1.8%; tree -3.8%; vegetables -12.1%; alcoholic beverages -1.8%; electricity, gas and other fuels -1.2% ) .
Price upgrades are noted in COICOP subgroups: bread and cereal (0.5%); tobacco (1.5%); use of personal transport equipment (3.1%)- updating oil and gasoline prices), transport services (5.9%)- updating air transport tickets prices), with a combined impact of these sub-groups of 0.4 percent in IHCK.
Meanwhile, the annual inflation rate -- measured in July 2020 by July 2019 -- was -0.1%.
The overall harmonised consumer price index suffered declines to an average of 0.1% in July 2020, compared to July 2019. This is largely explained with the drop in consumer prices in this period in COICOP subgroups: vegetables -4.5%; alcoholic beverages -2%; use of personal transport equipment -15.6% (the drop of oil and gasoline prices), with a common impact of these subgroups of -1.4% on IHCH.
While price hikes are noted in COICOP subgroups: bread and cereal (2.4%); meat (1.1%); milk, cheese and eggs (2.6%); trees (5.6%); sugar, jam, chocolate and candy (4.5%); coffee, tea and cocoa (5.9%); water, nonalcohol beverages, juices from trees and vegetables (1.5%); tobacco (2.1%); etc.
