Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, remembering the US Senate delegation's visit to Kosovo on 29 August 1990, has said that a new era in relations between Kosovo and the US began three decades ago.
He has said he is happy that today in Pristina the inauguration of Senator Dole, who at the time was the leader of the senators' delegation that visated Kosovo.

Three decades ago a new era began in the relations of the people of Kosovo with the United States. The US Senate delegation, led by Kosovo's great friend, Bob Dole brought the message of American support to our people. I am very happy that Senator Dole's multi-year engagement for Kosovo is now perpetuated in downtown Pristina through the inauguration of his bust. Bob Dole is the living hero of the people of the United States and the people of Kosovo!
