The Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Undiscovered Persons and Petitions has failed today to submit the narrow list of ombudsman candidates to the voting session.
That was after there was no quorum at the moment of voting due to the commission members leaving the Vetevendosje Movement ranks.
The latter and AAK MP Teuta Haxhiu refused to vote without a legal interpretation of why three members are not being sent as the law envisions, but four.
Commission Chairman Duda Balje said the report is legally in order and that four candidates for voting should be sent to the assembly because two candidates have the same score.
But here, Vetevendosje Movement MP Salih Zyba reacted, who said this happens when the third and fourth candidates have the same point, not when the first and second candidate has the same point.
Similar criticisms for the procedure were displayed by AAK MP Teuta Haxhiu, who demanded that candidates be listed by scores. That is why Mayor Balje, who said with these interpretations, is violating the Kosovo Assembly regulation. / E. Zeqiri/
