Swiss embassy against KLA values draft law

The Swiss Embassy has said that this law could undermine freedom of expression as one of the fundamental rights.

The Swiss Embassy has also said the proposed law could cause intimidation among some Kosovo citizens.

“Undeserved the right to show respect to the KLA and its members, Switzerland is concerned that the proposed Law for the protection of KLA war values could undermine freedom of expression, one of the fundamental rights under the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Foundation Freedoms. The proposed law could threaten several Kosovo citizens and prevent other processes aimed at dealing with the past. Switzerland encourages Kosovo leaders, politicians to track other ways to show respect for KLA”, said the Swiss Embassy's response.
