The Gjakova municipality has earmarked about 100,000 euros to buy 10,000 Serological tests, through which it aims to test its citizens. Gjakova Community Health Director Ferdinand Kolaj, in an interview for KosovoPress, said he is expected to arrive these tests next week.
Currently, only the Pristina municipality does serological tests. Exactly, the Gjakova municipality says there will be 5,000 IGG tests and another 5 thousand IGM tests available, which will also indicate whether one person has created antibodies against COVID-19.
And these tests, Kolaj tells Kosovo that they will be realised immediately as soon as they arrive and that they will be conducted at the main Centre of Family Medicine.
The Gjakova municipality has decided to have serological tests to be conducted at the main Family Medicine Centre. We're in procedure, split 100 grand for the job. We're on hold, it's a matter of days when we're going to start with the implementation of this project, which is, in the fight against COVIED, is also part of the serological tests that will help us see how many of the population's infected, and we're going to have IGGG and IGM tests that will show if the patient has, or has passed the virus, and if he's inside, did he create antibody”, Kolay stated.
Currently, to help out Regional Hospital “isa Grezda”, the Gjakova municipality has turned the Family Medicine Centre “Emin Duraku” to the point that it is given to all who are positive with COVID-19.
Previously, even a search of suspected persons or COVIDD-19 who did not need to be hospitalised were forced to receive hospital services. This charged even more this secondary-level institution.
The <x0Ide has been to create a center only for people with COVID, but they're not hospitalised, but these patients need oral therapy, which is assigned by the specialist, and there have been cases when a patient had to stay in the hospital just because he had therapy, and maybe he was definitely in hospital. We've decided that the Durakkun Emin, as the QMF is, to turn it into the service of the patients who are positive”, Cocaj said.
Gjakova Community Health Director says that in addition to hospital and KPC services, infected persons will be constantly contacted by a mobile team that is specifically set up for this.
“We've decided to take another step further, given that there will be patients who will come up positive, there are no conditions, or another way, we've decided to have a mobile team that will go home and they'll give needed therapy, and eventually the family medical center contact all people who are positive, if they're not in the hospital, and ask them about their situation and do they need anything”, Kolay said.
Gjakova Community Health Director Ferdinand Kolaj, about the lack of oxygen at the Gjakova Hospital that had occurred long ago, said those problems have already been overcome.
