SBASK warns that learning may be delayed again

On September 14th, it is decided that students will return to the learning process if preparations are conducted according to IKKKPK's recommendations.

But even this date is not defined unless preparations are made, while in the SBAK they say they will again request postponement, so that schools will not become a hearth of outbreak distribution.

USSAK Secretary Ymer Ymer for Online Economy says the extension of the new school year is made based on health institutions' recommendations to preserve students and educators.

After the recommendations of the IKSHPK, which the Ministry of Education has transformed as binding to implement in our schools, and after an assessment we have received with municipal directors, we have noted no preparations needed to implement the measures and recommendations of the IKSHPK, so we have appealed to MAS for a follow-up understanding of the new school year's extension in order to fulfil all recommendations provided by the health institution”.

“At a meeting we held yesterday where many acts were there, and after a long discussion we have come to the conclusion that it is better to postpone the learning process for 14 days”, he said, as he says that in this two-week period the necessary preparations to start teaching.

While discussing the matter, Ymer says that there are no hand disinfectants in any school. The contract with companies says it takes a lot of time, reports EO.

If all deeds are engaged very seriously to meet the conditions he has given I think we can make it. Schools don't have a disinfectant for hands, they need a time to contract the companies that are supplied with them, then we don't have a list of backup teachers, who these teachers can be sick Monday and have a hard time going to school. We don't have any extra teachers who can replace them”.

Postponing the learning process is the real option, says Ymer, unless the criteria provided by IKKPK are met.

We have been sincerely told that if until September 14th, we find the same situation as we are today, our appeal will again be not to start teaching because we see the loss of people's lives more than the loss of the learning process and we don't want schools to be places of outbreak and spread. We want them to be the center of wisdom”, he said.

Ymer has said that if anyone in a school gets infected, the learning process will continue online but says it is not their favorite.
