In an interview for Kurir, Russia's Ambassador to Seri, Aleksandar Bocan-Harcenko, has indicated that for his important state, the solution to the Kosovo problem is to be in Belgrade's interest.
He has also said Russia opposes predetermined agreements and that official Pristina must come up with a constructive attitude.
For us, it is important that resolving the Kosovo problem be in Belgrade's interest, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Russia in principle opposes pre-defined agreements as long as Pristina has the position Kosovo needs only Serbia's recognition and others do not care, so I do not see any progress. I expect the official Pristina to come up with the most constructive approach”, Aleksandar Bocan-Harcenko has said, broadcasting Metro newspaper.
Aleksandar Bocan-Hharcenko was also Russia's special emissar during the negotiation process between Kosovo and Serbia in Vienna and the Martinti Ahtisaari process that resulted in the February 17th declaration of independence.
