Qatar plans to expel 500,000 foreign employees

Noting that over half a million foreign employees are scheduled to be deported, Al-Aceel said the plan prepared to eliminate imbalance in the labour market has medium- and short-term solutions.
Al-Aseel showed how short-term solutions are planned for the deportation of 360 thousand foreign workers living in the country, adding that 120 thousand of them are illegal, 150,000 over 60 years old or chronically ill, as well as 90 thousand uneducated and unqualified workers.
Meanwhile, under medium- and long-term planning, according to the minister, a digital transformation is planned.
