Lebanon's Prime Minister, Hassan Diabb, has pledged that anyone responsible for the massive explosion that hit Beirut on Tuesday will be brought to justice.
He has requested international assistance after the explosion.
I make an urgent appeal to the friendly states... to stand by Lebanon and help us. It's national destruction. The responsible for this disaster will pay the price. It's a promise to the dead and injured”, he said in a statement to the people.
The explosion at the city port destroyed cities and left at least 60 people dead.
More than 3,000 others have been injured.
Hours after the explosion, many people are still being transported by military helicopters and other forms to hospitals.
The sudden explosion hits the country that had major problems with pandemics and was in economic crisis.
The cause of the explosion that destroyed many has yet to become known.
A state official has said he may have been caused by explosives that had been confiscated long ago.
According to some reports, the explosion was as powerful as it had felt in Cyprus, more than 200 miles [200 km] away.
