90 private labs conducting serial SARS tests The CoV2 have been licensed by the Health Ministry. While, only two of the labs throughout Kosovo are conducted molecular tests.
Prices for testing are at the level of competitiveness, so Kosovo Competition Authority Chairman Valon Presreshi has announced.
He has shown that some of the labs have already begun to conduct these tests, but there are still other labs that have not started testing.
The AKK's “Commission has been announced that a total of 90 labs licensed by the Ministry of Health and also received all data from the relevant institutions of the labs licensed for it after an exact report. According to data some labs have started their work and some have not. Most of them are working on serial tests. Only two labs are conducting molecular test”, Prestreshi said.
Prestrez at a media conference has also told of monitoring being done to private labs in terms of prices.
He has said that serological prices range from 15 to 35 euros, while the price of molecular testing ranges from 65 to 80 euros.
“According to analysis the prices of molecular and serological services are at the level of competitiveness, different in the city and region. Citizens are informed of prices and prices are transparent and there are variations, the citizen is likely to make the selection according to preferences or the family budget. The sociological prices vajre between 15 euros and 35 euros, while for molecular, water for 65 euros to 80 euros. Normally, in a market economy, setting prices from companies is based on quality of service, the cost of importing the product they have, and thus sets the price”, Prestreshi said.
Although this monitoring of services and prices for serial and molecular testing may be strict control of private institutions, but as Prestreshi says it is being done because these are of public interest and are being done to protect the citizen.
“These AKK services have been described as public interest activities, therefore considered state interest services so we are closely monitoring this process. Although in a market economy in free competition monitoring of companies in this form, it will probably be out of our reach because such strict monitoring of private institutions can also be considered as a kind of excessive exercise of the state, but since it is state interest we are doing this because of citizens”, he said, among other things.
