More than 27 million people in Manila and its suburbs are back in quarantine after the introduction of new restrictive measures because of the coronary in the Philippines.
The measures went into effect last night after the number of infected people in the country exceeded 100,000, and medical associations called on President Rodrigo Duterte to take action with that case.
Our “health workers should not bear the burden of deciding who will live and who will die,” said doctors in an open letter over the weekend, warning that the health system was overloaded.
Two major state hospitals in Manila have been temporarily closed due to infection among health workers, while some private hospitals are refusing patients due to lack of space, Guardian reports.
In recent days the Cronobius epidemic in the Philippines has spread rapidly, and 106,330 cases have already been recorded. Over 2,000 people died.
