OAK: Lehonia rest burden taken over by state

OAK through a communique says it has now addressed proposals regarding the change of the Labour Law and the Lehonia Rest Law, which are created after research and discussions with businesses.

“on this request points to Article 34, which says that “employees have the right to break the contract unilaterally “and, “contract-worker with the set deadline for breaking the contract, should inform the employer in advance in the form written in the 15-day term, while in the long term, warning of the contract drop is 30 days”. Since the Oda of Kosovo's Afarism case has called for contracts with a specific deadline, warning of resignation or departure will be 30 days for both sides, while for indefinitely-term contracts, warning resignation or departure to be 90 days for both sides. Also, according to Article 42 that says” if the work contract is cut off, according to Article 35 the burden of testing remains on employer”, where in this case we can note that if the worker leaves without warning, there is no punishment, while when the employer releases the worker without warning may be fined up to 40,000 euros. The Lehonia Rest Law, where the Oda of Kosovo Afarism requires that the payment of the Lehonia holiday be covered 100% by the state. Given that Kosovo is the country with the largest unemployment rate in the region and the employment rate of 12.6% out of the 600,000 female working age, OAK considers this to be one of the reasons for their unemployment, as many businesses are reluctant to employ women at the moment they consider that in the future they have to pay 70% of the basic salary for 6 months and at the same time pay a new worker for the same job country”, the Oda municipality reported.

At the end of the letter sent to Kosovo's Oda of Afarism calls for Minister Skender Recica to consider these proposals, naming them necessary for changes on one hand to employers and employers, as well as for increasing women's employment.
