Two successive meetings between Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq, will take place in September.
Initially in Washington and later Brussels is expected to be discussed towards the possibility of reaching the final agreement. But expectations from this meeting are modest by connoisseurs of political developments in the country.
While opposition LVV says any kind of challenge that brings dialogue, the country must find with institutions that have full legitimacy.
And at the executive, these meetings are considered of particular importance. However, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Albulen Balaj-Halimaj tells Kosovo that caution should be taken on this theme, while noting that dialogue can shake the partnership between the ruling coalition itself.
“Dialog is one of the country's biggest topics, it's not that they can't shake. This government will probably have the main role, or greater work, of the dialogue. They can shake any coalition partners”, she says.
And Vetevendosje leadership member Hakki Abazi says the government Hoti is sending Kosovo into a poor position against dialogue processes.
“Whatever challenge may be dialogue with Serbia, Kosovo must find with institutions or in the phase of establishing institutions with full legitimacy. Otherwise, walking in what they're doing, appointing a co-ordinator for dialogue that has no kind of weight of representation and responsibility from the democratic election processes and dropping Kosovo into an extremely weak position against the processes that are under way”, he says.
While, Arber Fetah from GLPS expresses sceptical that there may be something concrete about Kosovo from these meetings.
“will be a continuation of discussions from those that are kept. Perhaps a few points of dialogue could go on. Can there be specific signatures, or comprehensive agreements now especially with a kind of two-line dialogue with co-ordinator and level of prime ministers. I believe the next meeting will be some sort of summary of what has been achieved at these first meetings and continue on. Actually, there's a very concrete possibility, I think there's a little bit of”, he says.
In addition, sceptical of a possible deal is expressed by political analyst Krenar Shala.
There is a race between the EU and the US to address the problem between Kosovo and Serbia. However, it seems the United States has also found the problem more complicated than expected... The US is willing to provide solutions to some problems that would not be an obstacle to at least one economic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. ...7:30 absolutely I have no expectations, much less from the EU, which because of the system does not have a unified foreign policy”, he says.
In July, Kosovo-Serbia dialogue has resumed with the first meeting between Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and President Aleksandar Vuciq. While two more meetings have been held at the lowest political level, where it has been discussed the topics of the disabled and economic ones.
