The American biotechnology company, Moderna, has announced that it is in talks with several states about the supply of experimental vaccine against the new SARS-CoV-2 that causes the Devi-19 disease, adding that it has already accepted an estimated $400 million U.S. for possible supply.
The price of Moderna's possible vaccine has been set at $32, $33 per dose for low volume deals.
The candidate of this company is one of the few who is in the final phase of testing. As pharmaceutical producers race to develop a safe and effective vaccine against pandemic that has claimed more than 700 thousand lives worldwide.
Last week Modernna Inc. has begun the last phase of clinical trials in 30,000 people to demonstrate that the vaccine candidate was effective and secure -- the last obstacle to achieving approval by regulators. They have said they will be ready by the end of this year.
The company announced last month that it plans to set the price that would provide wide access and that there were no plans to conduct clinical trials of the vaccine outside the US.
While we are preparing the commercial phase of the company, we understand the need for reasonable prices in times of pandemic”, the executive director of the Stephanie Bance company said in a communique.
