Karacheva village residents: If the State doesn't protect us, we'll defend ourselves.

11 members of the Serbian gendarmerie in camouflaged and armed clothing are seen yesterday afternoon near the restaurant “Oxygen”, in the village of Karacheva.

Kosovaress learns there have been three groups of Serbian gendarmes who patrolled Kosovo's territory yesterday, causing concern and terrorisation of citizens of the Kamenica border zone. Residents of this village call on institutions to undertake something, otherwise they say they are obliged to stand up for their lands.

The owner of the restaurant “Oxygen”,rim Krasniqi, tells Kosovo how yesterday afternoon 11 Serb gendarmes wearing camouflaged clothing have passed by them, worrying citizens of this side.

Krasniqi shows that it is not the first time members of the Serbian gendarmerie have passed this way, while adding that they have announced all institutions.

Even now I expect from institutions and organs that this part will be visited more often by the Kosovo Police for citizens to be calm and I expect that the organs will be a static point in the village of Karacheva... guilty for this first is the government that does not take measures to protect Kosovo's territory. The owner of this restaurant says about Kosova Preiss that if something is not undertaken in protecting this territory, it should come out on its own in the protection of Karacheva village lands.

The imam of Karacheva village mosque, Bujar Fehra, indicates that this village is not safe for two decades now. According to him, residents of this country are facing uncertainty of provocation by the Serbian gendarmeria.

For this he shows how village dwellers have been alarmed several times, but nothing has ever been taken.

“We are a vulnerable part of Kosovo, neither from central institutions nor from municipal institutions.
