SBASK Chairman Nundman Jasharaj has said most schools are not ready to start learning.
His statement comes after the Government's decision to open schools on September 1st.
“We just had a virtual meeting with the Communists and the Steering Council, where they declared that schools are not prepared for the start of the new school year, except for some“, Jasharaj told Blic.
Mayor Bemerman said it would probably be best to postpone learning for a few more days to enable proper preparation of school facilities for the start of the new school year so that schools will not be turned into new breeding grounds.
He said there will also be a meeting tomorrow morning where the government will speak to discuss the start of the new school year.
By contrast, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has approved the decision on institutional and financial support for the beginning and successful implementation of the 2020-2021 school year.
The decision adopted at today's meeting is made under the request of the Ministry of Education and Science for institutional and financial support for the beginning and successful implementation of the 2020-2021 school year. The necessary tools are estimated at 9,515,384 euros.
