Hoti requires general mobilization for the start of new school year

At the request of Kosovo Government Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, the Association of Kosovo municipalities has organised today a virtual meeting with Kosovo Communist Committee heads and the directors of the Municipal Education Departments, in which it is discussed final preparations that the country's institutions are making for the start of the new year [...]
The conversation also included Minister of Education and Science Rame Likaj, and Health Minister Armenmen Zemaj, while the National Institute of Public Health was represented by Merita Kocija Berisha, who is also a procurator of Pristina University.
Prime Minister Hoti, in this case, asked all relevant education institutions instead of making the necessary preparations to begin the entire new academic year as a whole, but always taking into account the recommendations of health experts on fighting and preventing the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.
While, Education Minister Rame Likaj stressed that the Ministry of Education and Science is in the final phase of preparations for the start of the new 2020-2021 school year. He presented the three scenarios of this ministry for the start of the new school year, which are: A. Returning to school facilities, B. Learning combined, and C. Learning from different platforms.
At this meeting, participants agreed that the options of the KAS have to be changed into decisions as soon as possible and as such sent to the Municipal Education Departments, which, depending on their capacity, should determine which option they will implement in their municipality.
However, the attitude prevailed that, especially for lower classes, the priority is to give students access to physical participation in the learning process if that allows epidemiological conditions.
