In just the last two positive weeks with COVID-19 in Prizren municipality, some 140 people have resulted, but the mayor of this municipality, Mytaher Haskuka, voiced doubts that the number of infected people is greater, as he said, currently tests are being done only for people with symptoms.
Haskuka said that since the first cases of Corleone appeared, over 600 people have resulted in this positive municipality.
So far the Prizren municipality has been tested and proved positive are over 600 people, but I think the number is higher considering the number of tests and now tests are being done only with people with symptoms. In the last two weeks compared to other municipalities a little bit smaller, and now we are the fourth or fifth municipality ... in the last two weeks in Prizren there are about 140 people who have proved positive, and every day some of them recover new case”, Haskuka told Kosova Press.
The first of Prizren municipality has provided that based on yesterday's information at the Prizren Regional Hospital, there are currently about 100 patients with Covis-19, where 80 of them are on oxygen therapy.
Haskuka said that despite the fact that this hospital is the competence of the Ministry of Health, after problems with oxygen supplies, the municipality has come to the rescue, supplying it with about 800 gas canisters.
After QKUK, the largest number of people being treated with COVID-19 is at Prizren's regional hospital. According to the report from yesterday, there are about 100 patients in Prizren hospital over 80 of them with oxygen. There's been problems with oxygen supply at the local hospital and we in this regard with the hospital director, Mr. Avdaj we've made an agreement that we've had with oxygen, so far that I know about 800 oxygen tanks we've supplied to”, he stressed.
Pandemia, according to Haskuka, has also affected the decline of municipal revenues in this municipality, as that municipality says has made opportunities for businesses and these have directly influenced the municipality's wallet.
He said the hotel sector and brigtory have been greatly damaged by the pandemic, but hopes that with the package for economic recovery, it could be easier to help the businesses of these two sectors.
Prizren's leader said how the municipality has been able to help businesses through increased means for subsidisation and withdrawal of payment for six months.
“Prizren is a tourist centre in Kosovo and an honor of the most visited cities, whether in weekends, but also in terms of hotels and this sector has been very influential, but other sectors like the one of the brigtory, because restaurants haven't worked, farmers have been hit hard after they haven't been able to sell the dogs, have managed some 16 thousand leaders in the season because they haven't been able to sell, and there are many other sectors that have been negatively affected by the impact without effects and effects. I hope there's a package of recovery that can affect economic recovery from Pandemia”, he said.
