Children growing up in greener urban areas have higher intelligence and lower levels of difficult behavior have shown a study.
The analysis of more than 600 children aged 10 to 15 showed that growth for 3 percent of greenery in their neighborhoods had increased the IQ level by an average of 2.6 points. These results were seen in both rich and poor areas.
There's already enough evidence that green spaces improve different aspects of the child's cognitive development, but this is the first research examining the IQ, Writes The Guardian, follows Periscope.
The trigger is still unknown but may be linked to lower levels of stress, greater play and social contact or more relaxed environment.
