Greece has launched military exercise in the nearby area, where tensions have increased with Turkey following the latest gas and oil research.

In collaboration with American forces, Greeks have launched some of the air and water forces south of Crete.

The exercise includes a scare, a submarine and 6 F-16s. Meanwhile, Americans have the Destroyer ship available USS Winston Churchill and some helicopters.

According to Greek media, the goal of the exercise is to strengthen air defence, communication, exchange of information, co-operation with helicopters and so on.

Over the media, images of this military action have been distributed that more than the amount of exercise seems to be a force indicator to Turkey.

Military training will be held until 27 August.

Authorities have clarified that during these days training will not be used by firearms.

Greece's move comes as Turkey is looking for gas in a controversial area between the two states.

One of the problems is that Turkey and Libya had agreed on dividing their economic areas in the Mediterranean, but this conflicts with a similar agreement between Greece and Egypt.

Meanwhile, Germany and the US have been trying during this time to reduce tensions.
