Girls have studied more, and have spent more time on creative projects than boys, during the Coronobrus pandemic in Germany.
But both genders have <x0nervoired their parents” more than before the schools closed in March, a research was found, Reuters reports.
The average time that children have spent on school studies has dropped to 3.6 hours a day, down from 7.4 hours normally, according to research conducted by 1,009 parents.
The investigation was conducted in June, as it was released Wednesday by the IFO Center for Education Economics.
The study found that 64% of parents believe their children had learned much less during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the time they spend watching television, playing computer games, or using smart phones has increased to 5.2 hours a day, up from four.
Girls have been using technology equipment an hour less than boys a day, but they have spent half an hour more in their studies, 20 minutes more on reading and creative projects and 15 more minutes on social media.
Parents have doubled their time to help their children with school activities in an hour a day.
“The results show how important it is to go back to normal school lessons by respecting defence measures”, said Ludger Wiessmann, head of the Centre for Education Economics.
Germany has recorded relatively few cases of deaths by COVID-19, compared to several other EU countries.
This country, has a well-equipped healthcare system and has conducted massive tests since the beginning of the pandemic.
