German Health Minister Jens Spahn said on Wednesday he is skeptical of Russia as the world's first country to adopt a coronary vaccine, saying it is vital to ensure a safe and tested product before simply becoming the first to discover the vaccine.
It's not just about being the first somehow ʹ it's about having an effective, tested and secure vaccine”, Spahn told Radio Deutschlandfunk.
To have faith in such a vaccine, I think it's very, very important, even during the pandemic, to do studies the right way, relevant tests and especially for them to become public. The problem is that we know very little about him, because Russian authorities are not being very transparent”, the German minister added.
The Russian vaccine, which will be called “Sputnik V” in honour of the first world satellite, launched by the former Soviet Union, has not yet passed all the final tests.
That it is more important to ensure an effective and secure vaccine said the day before even Human Health and Services Secretary in the United States Alex Azer.
