Finland has entered the second “phase of the Corona virus epidemic, the Health Ministry announced today.
Authorities have imposed new restrictions to come from several European Union countries.
Belgium, Holland and Andorra are removed from the country's green list, and tourists coming from there must go to a 14-day quarantine.
“Situate is extremely sensitive,” said Lisa-Maria Voipio-Pulkyk from the Ministry of Health strategic team, adding that the “another phase started”, the Guardian reports.
Despite the rise in cases, Finland still has the lowest rate of incidentity in Europe, with two new cases for 100,000 people in the last 14 days.
So far, 7,532 infections of COVID-19 and 331 deaths have been reported to 5.5 million inhabitants of this Nordic country.
Officials said the “fall plan” would be announced next week and would specify new measures to be introduced if the virus continues to spread.
