The European Commission has announced an agreement with pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca for the security of at least 300 million doses of the anti-Convid vaccine.
Reuters reports that this European Union (Commission) body is negotiating on behalf of 27 member states, and the contract underscores the option of buying the vaccine in case it is approved to be safe and effective, Reutres writes, Periscopi translates.
“Today after dozens of weeks of negotiations, we have reached the deal that we can have potential vaccine”, says a statement by the Commissioner for European Health, Stella Kyriakides.
Earlier, a group consisting of France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands have provided the first doses of vaccine for the European bloc.
