The Pristina municipality, respectively, has been mobilised to begin learning on September 1st with three scenarios released by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The education director in the Pristina municipality, Hope Shala, has indicated that at the online meeting they held with the country's prime minister, Avdullah Hotin, mayors and the Ministry of Education, they have agreed to learn to begin in September. Although she has stressed that the first scenario for returning students to school banks will be difficult to accept in schools with many students, but that as important they see the return of the following students.
“We have had an online meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister, mayors and the Ministry of Education organised by the Kosovo municipal association. At this meeting we agreed to start learning on September 1st. NOLY, he has already made a guide that within this guideline are three learning scenarios. It's school class, it's the combined teaching that's in school and online and online learning as a whole. The first scenario means that all students should return to school banks and that in the municipality of Pristina and in cities where there are large numbers of students, it is unmet. It can only be implemented in villages where there are few students. The second scenario means that students have to go back to school, but that in terms of the city of Pristina, they need to be divided into two classrooms and one day online learning, and on the next day physically at school. The third scenario means that if there are large infections of either students or educators then the entire school goes online, or if there are numerous cases at school then, the whole school goes online”, she explained to Klan Kosova.
Because of the situation created by COVID-19, there will be no single decisions for all schools, but it will all depend on the specifics facing schools.
Shala has also shown the scenario of keeping instruction for first and second-class students.
“will probably have priority for first and second classes. We have meetings with school principals and educators, and the requirement is for the class to take place every day at 2 hours to 45 minutes, in two hours, to be a 30-minute break to clean up the environment, and then for the second class to come to school, and then for the first and second-class kids to come to school every day. We're going to try to create conditions for all children from first grade to fifth, because contact with the teacher and the development of classes has far greater effect, especially for these ages, while for other classes we're going to go with the second” scenario, Shala said.
Even though it will be challenging since even schools in Pristina have large numbers of students, however, Shala says they will try to do our best to protect students' health.
The “is very challenging because we know Pristina schools are loaded, but we will try our best to mobilise for the protection of student health by adhering to the recommendations of the IKSHPK and the MAST” guide, she stressed.
