Two American officials said there was no indication that the huge explosion in Beirut was the result of an attack by some country or its allies.
An official under anonymous conditions near the State Department and a member of the US intelligence community told the Associated Press that the explosion appears to have been caused by inadequate explosive storage at the moment.
A State Department official also said that “did not have the idea” of what President Donald Trump alluded when he said during a press conference at the White House Tuesday that the “blast appears to be a terrible attack”.
Trump later said that his <x0).8x1> generals said they felt like it was an attack.
At least 113 people lost their lives in a devastating explosion at the port of Beirut, and more than 4,000 were injured.
