David-19, Croatia restores restrictions

Croatia will restore restrictions after the record increase of COVID-19 cases, Croatian Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic said, while the country today reported 358 new infections over the last 24 hours -- the highest daily increase in the country since the beginning of the pandemic. According to the Health Ministry, restrictions will be restored to the Split-Dalmia region by the middle of Wednesday.

“From Thursday, masks will be mandatory in all closed areas with more than three persons”, the head of the Regional Crisis Management Team, Luka Brjic, stressed at a news conference.

The wearing of a mask will be mandatory in cafes and restaurants while not eating or drinking, as well as in museums and religious services.

Weddings and funerals will be limited to 50 people and family celebrations on 20, while visits to nursing homes will be suspended.

Gyms and sports centres will be closed.
