A June study showed that the levels of antibodies could drop by two to three months to people with a confirmed infection that had mild or no mild symptoms, writes the Washington Post newspaper.
But the Centre for Control and Prevention of CDC Diseases' latest instructions go a little further.
“The persons who tested positively for the coronary should not be quarantined or take a new test of up to three months unless they show symptoms again,” stresses CDC.
On the other hand, it is said that those who resurface symptoms within three months of the first showing of the coronary may need to be revoted if there is no other cause of their symptoms.
Other virtues, including those causing SARS and MERCS, have antibodies for which experts believe they last for about a year. In the early days of the spread of the virus in the United States, scientists hoped that antibodies to the new virus would last at least so long.
A study published in May revealed that people who had recovered from infection could return to work safely, but it was still not clear how long they could be protected.
