Local media images show the confused property among the recently built Haizhuyong bridge in the town of Guangzhou, the province of Guangdong.
The house has a floor and consists of an apartment of 40 square feet [40 sq m] and looks like it stays in a hole in the middle of the four - lane street.
The owner, known as Liang, did not want to move because the state did not find an ideal place in compensation.
I know the consequences and I don't care what others think of me. You think this environment is bad, but I think it's quiet, relaxed and comfortable”, she said.
The owner reportedly sought four apartments, and the state agreed to provide only two. She was also offered shelter near the city's morgue, which is another reason why she refused to leave.
Authorities claim they also offered her money but she declined. Then engineers studied the projects again to make a bridge bypassing the house, while the state will continue to negotiate with Liang.
