Great Britain reported 1,062 new positive tests for coronarys, the highest daily increase in new COVID-19 infections since late June, at a time of new local impasses in some areas and concerns of a second wave of infections. Official data showed 1,062 people tested positive [...]

Official data showed 1,062 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, going over 1,000 new daily cases for the first time since June, and 304 more cases than yesterday when 758 cases were reported.

The United States has set a record for Coronavirus cases, with more than five million people now infected, according to a Reuters report, as the country's highest infectious disease official offered hope earlier this week that an effective vaccine could be available by the end of the year.

India also recorded 861 casualties, causing the death toll to 43.379.

India's Medical Association said 196 doctors have died from COVID-19 to date, and in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they requested adequate care for their doctors and families.

The Health Ministry recorded nearly 64,000 new cases of coronary in the past 24 hours for a total of 2,153,010. At least 628,747 patients are still undergoing treatment.

Italy marked 463 new cases with COVID-19, according to health ministry figures.

Many of the recent cases have been found among young people returning from vacation abroad.

Italy's new daily cases had so far reached over 500 confirmed infections, but the number had dropped to 347 on Saturday, more in line with last week's numbers.

Deaths from the Coronavirus in Brazil have exceeded 100,000, five months after the first reported case, while New Zealand marked 100 days without an internal transmission of the coronary on Sunday, but warned more carefully as countries like Vietnam and Australia are struggling to restore infections.

In contrast, at least 19.67 million people worldwide have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while the global death rate exceeded 727,000. More than 11.88 million have recovered.
