After numerous calls for blood donations on the part of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, the state of blood reserves is already stable, but critical remains the security of negative groups.
So has the director of the National Blood Transfusion Centre (QKTGJ), Beauty Zhubi, who says that after some shares they've undertaken, the blood condition has stabilised in this center.
Zhubi has stated that the list of blood products requirements has been added to patients infected with COVID-19.
There's a state of blood stabilizer, it's stabilized well, but if you don't keep giving blood again we'll be in critical condition. It is quite understandable that the situation we are in is a challenging situation for all of us as blood transfusion, for donors and every citizen of Kosovo, but we have to join forces and do what is best and create the possibility of continuing other people who depend precisely on blood... Besides other patients who receive blood and blood components, patients with COVID-19” have also received blood, Joubi said.
Director of the National Blood Transfusion Centre stresses that the need for negative blood groups continues to remain critical.
“Group 0 requirements on the part of patients have been huge, and this has caused a temporary reduction in this group, zero positive though it has been faster, and it has been flawed in the last two weeks, but of course negative groups are the main problem that has all blood transfusions in general... these groups are always indisposed, even in our absence of negative”, said Zhubi.
Even in Prizren's Regional Blood Transition Unit, the state of blood reserves is currently stable.
The chief of this service, Shasivar Saquu, says that the number of blood donors has declined because of the pandemic.
“Rezervas in general are enough to ensure the treatment of patients treated at Prizren Regional Hospital. But we constantly appeal to all who enjoy good health that at least twice a year they donate blood so that we don't have problems providing enough doses to treat all patients who need this product more than important... In these pandemic circumstances, the number of donors, whether family or volunteer, has declined for many reasons, so we are faced with sufficient shortages, but it hasn't happened anyway that patients in our departments suffer because of blood products”, he stressed.
We remember that since the spread of the coronary in Kosovo has repeatedly been called for blood donation, as blood reserves at the National Blood Transfusion Centre have often been low.
