BIK: Over 25m euros raised for construction of the Great Mosque

Islamic Community Secretary Ahemt Sadriou said over 25m euros have been collected for the construction of the Great Mosque in just one day.

“My windows are collected on a jungle day. Within a mosque collection activity, 25m euros have been collected. We got tools for Albania when it hit the earthquake, we got supplies for the tsunami in Indonesia. Those tools have been collected, however, on state issues”, he said in interactive.

BIK Secretary General Ahmet Sadriou said the issue of building the Great Mosque in the capital has been politicised.

We live in a democratic state where freedom of expression and protest is politicised. There was no protest when the decision was made. We are known as societies with different beliefs and strong mutual tolerance. “This isn't Arabia, let's go to Arabia”, some say. We're talking about a population where there are percentages of Muslims. Must be careful with statements”, Sadriu said in interactive.

Sadriu said the “issue with the Great Mosque is politicising”.
