The high figure brings the total number of people who had or actually had the virus to 226 914, while 943 people have died as a result of Covid-19”, according to RKI, the ATS reported.
The number of infected people in Germany has increased in recent weeks, with daily cases exceeding 10,000.
At the peak of the explosion early in April, daily growth of the cases exceeded 60,000 per day.
The latest number was dated 1 May to 1st with 139 registered infections.
Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Germans to implement rules aimed at halting the spread of the virus, warning that there can be no further easing of the country's restrictions on public life following the rise of cases.
