Agreement reached on resolution of chaotic situation on Albania-Greece border

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs confirmed the news through an announcement stressing that the agreement was reached after long talks with the Greek side over the course of the day, at the highest levels with its authorities.

Meanwhile, starting tomorrow (16 August) for all those citizens entering Greece will be implemented mandatory 7-day quarantine.

Also, from Monday (August 17th), only 750 people per day will be able to pass from the border point of Kakaville, while only 300 people a day from Captica to the 0600 o'clock time period, in line with rules set by the Greek side, as a result of the COVID-19 situation.

All those citizens who meet the criteria set out to travel to Greece (the citizens of Greek citizenship, persons who have permission to stay in Greece, persons with minority card, persons who have their main residence in Greece, as well as those who need to travel for professional reasons-after receiving special permission from Monday, should present the border even documentation as follows:

The negative tests of COVIID-19 (RT-PCR), which must have been conducted up to 72 hours before arrival at the border crossing point, from public or private labs certified in Albania. This rule does not apply to truck drivers carrying goods and children under 10 years of age.

The diagnostic confirmation translated into English that should be marked by name, surname, and passport number/number of the individual's identity card.

COVIDD's-19 (RT-PCR) test is valid only from the labs imported by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
