The two miniature zombies, which were discovered in Egypt, were first described with a CT scanner, whose image showed that there were no human remains in them, as archaeologists expected.
Two 40 inches [45 cm] long, in the form of a human body, are placed in a museum in Haifa for decades, but so far they are not studied in detail, as they were believed to contain the heart of the deceased on whose sarcophagus were found, writes Science Live.
Because they first registered with a CT scan, there were no human remains in them. One was a mixture of grain and mud, and the other was a zombie bird.
“Zog doesn't have a left leg, but no one knows why”, said Dr. Marcia Xawi, who filmed zombies.
So far, it is known that zombies are more than 2,000 years old, Ron Hillel says from the museum in Haifa, where they are being held.
The zombie study began by chance, as at the museum, they were classifying that they knew nothing about them.
The existing notes said they contained the remains of a zombie heart, but this did not seem logical to experts, because the heart was usually left inside the body, since in the beliefs of ancient Egyptians it plays a crucial role if someone would gain eternity.
The lump filled with mud and grain was made in the form of Osiris, a god who symbolized eternal life - life after death - but also vegetation.
During the festival dedicated to him, experts explain, such a mixture of mud and grain were immersed in water, after which wheat would begin to sprout, which was a symbol of Osiris' role as the god of life.
The second zombie, which contains the remains of a bird, is in the form of the god Horus. This god, according to Egyptian mythology, has the head of a hawk, and he is the son of Osiris and goddess Isis.
