Health Minister Amend Zemaj has reacted after the North Macedonian Government's decision to seek COVID-19 tests for Kosovars crossing the border, saying this decision narrows the free circulation of people and goods between two states.
Through a post in his official profile on the social network Facebook, Minister Zemaj has said that through Ambassador Gjergj Dedaj has expressed concern for the move and that he has demanded that these barriers be avoided.
“asked the ambassador to address the competent bodies the need for interstate co-operation with the aim of exceeding pandemic and joint co-ordination in the fight against the Corona”, Zemaj wrote.
Minister Zemaj's full post without interference:
The North Macedonian Government's decision to request COVID-19 tests for those crossing the border makes free flow of people and goods between two states difficult.
Through Kosovo's ambassador to the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Gjergj Dedaj, I have expressed concern about this hasty move and have requested that barriers of assessment and commitment of the two sides of the epidemiological situation and free movement be averted.
I asked the ambassador to address competent bodies the need for interstate cooperation in order to overcome pandemic and joint co-ordination in the fight against the Corona virus.
