Vuciq had announced on Tuesday that new deadlock measures would be re-established later in the week, prompting demonstrators to meet in front of parliament with calls for resignations, Klan Kosova reports.
Protests began Tuesday and continued today with thousands of people protesting and several injured outside parliament. There were also clashes between protest groups and police who threw tear gas, writes Euronews.
But, Vuciq said on Wednesday that without the announcement of the extraordinary situation, he would not be able to implement the curfew from Friday to Monday to curb the spread of the virus.
The protests, according to Serbian media, are still continuing on the way to the first Parliament in Belgrade.
