Minister of Internal Affairs Agim Veliu spoke with representatives of the American Embassy and ICITAP programme in Kosovo today, Kimberly Ripfee, Christopher Dittmeier, Shaen Enddoupps, Drita Peresic and Isah Maloku.
The meeting discussed the ministry's role -- in particular, Minister Veliu's -- after appointment to the National Co-ordinator's position for the Prevention of Distremism of Violence and Combating Terrorism, with emphasis on the priorities and challenges awaiting the Republic of Kosovo, as well as local and international implications in this direction.
The joining of two strategies, which were formerly divided into the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister, and were discussed in more detail on priorities, objectives and vision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in fighting these dangerous global phenomena, as well as co-operation with important international factors.
Also discussed was the donations, assistance, and assistance of the United States of America, with special emphasis on advancing and maintaining systems, already installed in the Republic of Kosovo, such as the Auto-Intelligence System of Fingers (AFIS).
