The number of visitors from Kosovo is halved compared to a year ago, though for vacationers from this country, Albania is the only destination at the moment.
Border Point Vermica-Morine data shows that during June 2019, close to 270 thousand citizens from Kosovo had headed towards the Albanian coast, while during June of this year only 130 thousand, KOHA writes.
Pandemia has changed Kosovars' tourist destinations this year. Unlike past seasons, when tourists from Kosovo chose between Albania, Turkey, Montenegro and Croatia, Albania is now almost alone.
A portion of them are taking advantage of weekends on vacation, and another part is waiting to decide depending on how new cases of coronarys follow. Some of them prefer to go to Turkey because of security, and some are waiting for Montenegro to lift the tests for COVID-19, as criteria for entering this state. Another part chooses not to take a holiday at all this year.
However, the first weekend of July has marked an increase in the number of vacationers from Kosovo to Albania. Long queues of vehicles have been established Saturday morning, where between 05am and 7: 00 a.m., some 8 thousand cars have entered from Kosovo to Albania.
