One in ten people who lose their sense of taste and wind because of the coronary can't restore it within a month, one study suggests.
A change in wind or taste is now known as a symptom of Covid-19, along with a constant cough and fever.
Research into a small group of Italians who endured mild periods of illness found that some still struggled to smell or taste a month after their illness.
Study published in the magazine JAMA, it included 187 Italians who had the virus but who were not sick enough to get into the hospital.
Researchers observed them and were asked to appreciate their sense of smell or taste right after being diagnosed and again a month later.
Sixty percent (113) reported a change in their sense of smell or taste.
