Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has warned of the state of emergency, due to the situation created with the Covid-19 pandemic.
And that declaring the state of emergency is the right decision, says security expert Drizan Shala.
He has stressed that this announcement of the state of emergency will not take place as planned in March, but that it will be in the resort measures where citizens will be forced to use safeguards like masks and gloves.
“The announcement of the state of emergency by Government Hoti is an appropriate action in view of the number of cases that are increasing the day in Kosovo, this state of emergency should not imply an extraordinary state of classical style, which is scheduled to take place in March, but is an announcement of the state of emergency using legislation in power, not creating with the constitutional decision that has occurred in the past, but this declaration of the state of emergency to be with the retrigu measures where citizens will be obliged to use protective measures such as masks and gloves. At the same time, inspectors will go to the field and have to monitor those measures that the government has preceded”, Shala says.
Shala is praising that with the state of emergency declared, monitoring of the situation will be easier, given that the KSF will also be activated.
“With the announcement of the state of emergency, it's good because the number of personnel involved will be much larger and monitoring will be easier, given that the KSF will also be activated, which can cover jointly with the police, the territory of Kosovo, and can be put to stop the growth of persons who are infected with individuals-19”, he says.
For announcing the state of emergency, Prime Minister Hoti has received and the backing of mayors with whom he has had a virtual meeting Saturday.
