Meanwhile, the new parliament, released after the 15 July elections, is due to meet at the beginning of August, and this session is called by the speaker to resign from parliament, which is Mr. Xhaferi.
Under parliament's regulation, his chairman appoints the founding session of the new parliamentary composition, twenty days after the parliamentary election results have been formalised. If he/she is unable to attend the session, then the oldest deputy is running him. The new speaker of parliament is also elected at the first session.
Two other Democratic Union for Integration officials have reportedly resulted in positive tests for COVIDD-19: Arber Ademi, who is current minister of education and deputy in the new parliament, as well as Kreshnik Bektesh, economy minister who have been active during the pre-election campaign, during which protocols and measures of protection from Coronavirus were not always implemented.
Coronervirus' situation has not improved in northern Macedonia for weeks, taking some lives every day. In the last 24 hours alone, 6 victims and 129 new cases have been reported. Five of the victims are from Skopje and one from Struga. Within this time interval, 1.535 tests were conducted, while 109 people have resulted in cures of the virus. Since the outbreak of pandemic, 451 cases of deaths have been recorded from 9,797 affected, of which 4,092 remain active and 5,254 recovered.
