The United Nations expects poverty levels to rise by 7% in 2020, an increase of 45 million, for a total of 230 million poverty, representing 37.2% of the population living in Latin America and the Caribbean.
According to the organisation, the economic impact will be increasingly devastating, while pandemic is affecting the region, which has seen seven years of slow growth and deep inequality continues, with millions of people without medical coverage or drinking water. / AT S-AFP/
