“This study shows, with a high level of scientific capacity, the big challenge ahead towards meeting the Paris Agreement for Climate Change target, to preserve a global rise of temperature much below 2 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial levels and to continue with efforts to limit temperature growth even higher than 1.5 degrees Celsius<1>, said OBM Secretary General Petterilas.
Experts made a particularly drastic forecast for the Arctic region, which is likely to have warmed the global average more than twice this year. / AT SH-DPA/
