After the end of the campaign, the election silence for early parliamentary elections in northern Macedonia has begun at midnight, and the three-day vote begins today.
The first to vote today are the people in isolation and infected with Ovid-19, or total 706 people according to the latest information from the Northern Macedonia State Election Commission.
There are more than 50 registered voters in isolation in Struga and Resen, 30 in Ohrid and Kumanovo, and dozens in Aerodrom, Karpos and Gazi Baba. Media, observers and all those interested in monitoring today's vote will receive protection equipment from the KSHZ.
Other sick people, prisoners and people living in homes for the elderly will vote tomorrow, while the main election day is Wednesday 15 July.
Under the voting protocol, only as many voters will enter the polls as there will be ballot boxes. It is mandatory to wear the mask that voters will briefly remove only for identification. Hand disinfection is mandatory before and after voting.
Places that do not meet the standards of voting under pandemic conditions have already moved to the nearest major sites.
The total number of voters on the voter's list is 1,814.263, who will vote for one of the 15 political parties, while the polling will be open by 9:00, until the previous elections are closed at 7:00.
The Democratic Union for Integration in this election came up with the idea of a first Albanian prime minister in northern Macedonia. Naser Ziberi, a former party lawmaker and official, was introduced as the candidate for prime minister of the party.
A pre-election coalition between a Macedonian party and a party from the Albanian bloc LSDM and the Besa Movement was established in this election for the first time.
Otherwise, parliamentary elections were due to be held on April 12th, but were postponed on July 15th because of the choreography. They are held after Northern Macedonia did not get the start date for negotiations with the EU, despite the agreement with Greece on changing the name.
