Due to the situation with the new Coronavirus in Montenegro, the chairman of the Centre for Monitoring and Research Steering Council, Zlatko Vujovic, estimates the elections, which are scheduled for August 30th, should be postponed.
The constitutional deadline for maintaining them is mid-October, and according to Vujovic, it should be given access to health workers, but also to citizens, for the situation to improve”.
Because of the coronavis, life should not stop, but that does not mean that at any cost elections should be organised at a time when the epidemiological situation in the country is bad”, Vujovic estimates. He argued that <x1 selections should be held along with Covid-19, but in terms of the constitutional deadline the term must be found, even the last, October 18th”.
“Perhaps the epidemic will be powerful and in October, but we can say we have done everything as responsible persons and we can choose the term which allows space for our health institutions for all this”, Vujovic said.
