LDK, PDK and AAK leave vote open for declaring the state of emergency, LVVV rejects

The rise in cases with Avid 19 has prompted the prosecution of procedures for declaring the state of emergency by Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti to consider. Although the decree in the Assembly is sent by the country's president, the chief executive at the latest Security Council meeting, without Thaci's presence, warned such an opportunity. But, in the Kosovo Assembly, where “vula” such a decree expressed with different attitudes whether the state of emergency should be declared legally. Until, the Vetevendosje Movement strongly opposes this idea, the other three parliamentary parties -- the LDK, the PDK and the AAK -- leave the vote open for declaring the state of emergency.

LDK MP Rock Manaj tells Kosovo that declaring the state of emergency does not directly imply the participation of the military and police in the process.

But according to him, it can only be announced so that the restrictive measures they have in the past are in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the country.

AAK MP Time Kadriaj, not denying the possibility of declaring the state of emergency, says the primary should be not blocking the economy.

We are seeing that the number has increased, but if we become aware we can co-exist with this pandemic by not damaging the Kosovo economy”, she says.

Although in opposition, MP The PDK, Bajrush Xhemjali, said that in serious situations, as if this pandemic should be declared the state of emergency.

If the institute wants to establish that it should declare scientific meaning, if it's proclaimed I don't oppose it as a person. Of course, in serious situations the state of emergency should be declared. I'm not an expert, but the situation is alarming, of course citizens can keep in mind that it can come to that”, Xhemajli said.

But tough against declaring the state of emergency, Kosovo said, the head of the Vetevendosje Movement parliamentary group, Rexhep Selimi.

He says such an opportunity is more likely to exacerbate the situation in the field of security and politics than the management of the Javid pandemic 19.

“The announcement of the state of emergency seems to have nothing to do with managing the situation with Coddy-19 exclusively. If they wanted to take other measures in accordance with their competencies, they would have backed the law (anti-Covid) and we would have been more relaxed, it's not that the announcement of the state of emergency is dedicated only to Ovidius. The announcement of the state of emergency is more to exacerbate the situation, and especially in the area of security and politics than to manage Covid 19”, he says.

Kosova Prees has also contacted President Hashim Thaci's office to ask whether there has been consultation with Prime Minister Hoti and whether they will initiate such a decree in the Kosovo Assembly, but to date they have not returned.

In March, when the first cases with Kosovo's president, Hashim Thaci, had already begun to appear, was demanding the state of emergency, as said of better management of the Corona virus. This found support from some of the political leaders, including the now ruling party, Isa Mustafa.
