The ATK, without any warning, has blocked the Kosovo Post accounts for the 2019 debt of 2018.
Kosovo's Tax Administration has closed the accounts to the Kosovo Post for debts of 2018/19.
According to the communiqué issued by the Kosovo Post reportedly with this unilateral move, The ATK has suspended Kosovo Post services and operations, which offer consumer services daily to about 140 post offices in all Kosovo municipalities.
“The ATK has paid off more than a thousand Kosovo Post workers and has placed this public enterprise in the worst position at this time of pandemic. The Kosovo post, it has asked the government to implement losses of over 5m euros from the Universal Post Service, confirmed by the ARKEP, the Foreign Auditor, the Foundation Court and the Overworker. Therefore, Kosovo's Acting Board of Directors and Post Management expresses tremendous concern, as well as urgent demand from Prime Minister Hoti and Government as its sole shareholder, to return debts to the Kosovo Post, enabling immediate write-off of tax obligations to ATK”, the report said.
